ACHNAHANAID, BRAES, ISLE OF SKYE

The cottage is situated 5 miles south of Portree and is set well back from the township road, with lovely views across the Sound of Raasay. The crofting hamlet has a scattering of houses along a quiet road and is a haven for a variety of birds and wildlife. Set against a hillside, this is a lovely peaceful situation and an easy walk leads down to a shingle shore 1/4 mile away. Over the top of the hill behind the house, is a loch, which has been stocked with trout. Pony trekking, golf and climbing are within easy reach of Braes.

ACCOMMODATION: Sleeps 4 + baby

Lounge, spacious kitchen with dining table at picture window, 1 large bedroom with up to 3 single beds and cot, 1 small bedroom with 1 single bed, bathroom. All electric with night storage heaters. Electricity used is payable on departure.

Cooker, fridge, automatic washing machine, colour television and stereo. Bed linen and towels are provided.

Large garden with seating and clothes drying facilities.

Pets welcome under supervision as the croft is stocked with sheep.

DIRECTIONS

After crossing the Skye Bridge take directions for Portree. Travel for approximately 35 miles on the A87 (T) road until just before you come to a narrow bridge. Braes is signposted on the right hand side of the road, take the slip road to Braes for approximately 1 mile, turn right at the T junction. Carry on along this road past Camustianavaig and Conordon, the next village signposted is Achnahanaid. Drive past the bungalow on the right hand side, go round the sharp bend and as you descend the hill my house is the first on the right hand side, with a white wall around it. Stop here to pick up the key and instructions for the cottage.
